300x350donePreserving our skin is challenging because it is a natural development of aging. Although we live longer we also age more, wrinkles are more apparent and fine lines seem to never go away. These are all signs that come from smiling and doing natural gestures on your face. Also, as we age our collagen production slows down and our body starts to slow down as well. There is a positive aspect of aging and that is technology and innovation. We are living in a time were we are able to seek anti-aging products that can help us keep our skin firm, diminish the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, and even clear our dark spots. These products are also expensive and do not guarantee results. So how do we know if our wrinkle cream is really working to preserve our skin? Take a look at these tips to find out if your wrinkle cream is really working for you!

The first thing to look at is the ingredients. Ingredients in your anti-aging product are essential proof that it is indeed a working product. Many of the essential ingredients are proven scientifically to have an actual result on the skin. Tests have been conducted to see what positive effects it has on the human skin and body. The main ingredients to look for in an anti-aging product are: Retinol, Peptides, Antioxidants, Hyaluronic Acid, and Hydroxy Acids. Some of these ingredients are scientific terms for Vitamin A, C, and E which are proven to help the skin in various ways. They can help the skin by removing old skin, provide moisture, and even help clear the skin of dark spots.

The most important ingredient to look for is Retinol which is in the same family as Vitamin A, and is also known as Retin-A. The reason why this is a crucial ingredient in your anti aging cream is because it helps with the production of collagen. Collagen is a protein that helps our skin preserve the elasticity and smoothness. Our bodies production of collagen slows down as we age, and its even worse if we smoke cigarettes.

On the other hand, it is not recommended to just simply buy a product because it has retinol.  Keep in mind that many products have a certain amount of each ingredient. This is all relative because it also depends on the skin concern or potential expectations you might. It is important that you try the product over a period of time to see the best results. Everyone’s skin is different and may react differently over time. The more you stick to a certain product the more likely you will see the best results. It is recommended that you try a product for a period of 4-6 weeks in order to see the real results. Also, take pictures of before and after to record your progress over time. Most of these products promise many things but you can only really know by trying them out.

Knowing what is in those products is also very important, so read on to find out about a wrinkle cream that contains retinol, which is vital to keep your skin young and radiant.

Retinol is an antioxidant that is also known as Vitamin A. This powerful ingredient works by being able to attach to your skin cells after it is absorbed and basically making them behave like younger cells. Easier put, It is absorbed into the skin and able to change the behavior of your skin cells. That means your cells will produce the nutrients your skin used to produce some years back, and you will get all the benefits of a younger and fresher skin. Things like collagen are imperative to keeping a younger skin because that is what will help to virtually decrease and even disappear your wrinkles. Retinol will also work with its antioxidant power and will fight against those free radicals that are damaging your skin.
