Having Facelift Second Thoughts...?

So you’re considering a facelift… You’ve checked your finances; concluded it’s in your budget. You even came up with the perfect excuse for your boss as to why you need two weeks off of work. Everything seems to be in your favor, but have you done your research? And by research, I don’t mean what medical school your cosmetic surgeon attended. As important as that is, when considering a procedure as invasive as a facelift, one must make it a priority to look into what other patients who have undergone the same procedure have experienced.

The number of facelift procedures being performed each year is always increasing. And with the steady stream of controversy surrounding highly popular “branded facelifts”, it’s no surprise that more and more facelift procedures, along with the practitioners of said procedures, are falling under investigation.

Journalists for The New England Journal of Medicine surveyed 850 women who underwent a facelift in 2014. Their results concluded that 82% of patients had to wait 10-12 weeks to see complete reduction of swelling, minimizing of incision scars and fading of bruises. 10% didn’t see these results for 8 months. Only 8% of patients saw proper healing within four weeks. Of these 850 women, 297 required further surgical revisions and 459 needed cosmetic fillers to even out any dents left on their face once the swelling had subdued.

It’s quite common for those who undergo any type of cosmetic procedure to want to conceal it from those who aren’t immediate family or close friends. No one wants their coworkers to know they went under the knife. Everyone wants to appear as if they’ve aged gracefully. Going back to the work place after being absent for two weeks, with a scar as thick as a shoelace behind your ear, is an immediate tell tale sign that you’ve had some work done. Even if you do keep your hair down, to hide the aforementioned scar, how are you going to conceal that new puffy face you’ve acquired on account of post-surgery swelling?

We all want to age gracefully. Everyone secretly wishes to get asked if they’re ten years younger than they really are. Plastic surgery is not the only way of achieving it. Studies have shown that topical anti-aging treatments can begin to produce results within 4-6 weeks of continuous use as long as they contain quality ingredients. The Johnson and Johnson Consumer Products Laboratory, conducted a four month study on Deanol. Anti-aging creams and treatments containing Deanol (DMAE) have been proven to tighten the skin, reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles and improve the underlying muscle tone.

The study conducted was carried out over four months. Within that timeframe, 87% of test subjects saw a reduction of fine lines, an improvement in lip shape and fullness within 6 weeks. 74% of test subjects saw improvement in their under-eye dark circles, nasolabial folds and loose neck skin within 8 weeks. The study showed that application of Deanol was well tolerated and peeling, burning, itching, dryness or stinging was never an issue amongst those tested. None of these positive effects regressed during a two week cessation of application. Anti-wrinkle creams have come a long way. They’re slowly, but surely becoming facelift alternatives. With results such as the ones stated above, the need for invasive surgery is no longer prevalent. The key to go about this in the right way is finding the anti-aging product containing Deanol, that is best for you.

A highly reviewed and well-ranked anti-aging cream is LifeCell All-in-One Anti-Aging Treatment. Deanol is one of its main active ingredients. Not only does it provide the long-term results mentioned earlier, it contains light-reflecting micro-technology that gives you an instant wrinkle reducing effect in just 17 seconds of application. After conducting our own review of this product, we determined the company’s claims to be truthful and we were able to achieve the results promised. Make sure to read our full review on LifeCell, as well as our reviews on other anti-aging creams! You’ll be sure to find the one that is right for you.

Are these statistics really true? I mean, I knew getting a facelift could have some side effects..but 82% of patients had to wait 10-12 weeks for swelling to go down? Would facelifts really be so popular if ther were so harmful? Anyone?

Unfortunately Christine, the statistics are completely true. Thousands of women and men still go through with these procedures each year, even though they know how dangerous they can be. While there are some procedures that are less painful, the price of the surgery, and the toll that they take on your skin, are just not worth it.

It sounds like they do more harm than good. I think I’m going to stick to wrinkle cream for now. I use Regenerist, which works reall well, but will Lifecell really live up to the price? Its kinda expensive.

Regenerist is a great product, considering how inexpensive it is. But LifeCell is for men and women with more severe cases of wrinkles and other age signs. Not only is LifeCell extremely potent, but one tube lasts 2-3 months! Therefore, you get the results you pay for. *They also offer a 30 day trial period, too!

I’m 54, and after years of considering a facelift, I think I’m finally going to give it a try. I’ve used practically every anti age cream out there, some work, but most don’t. Either way, I’ve seen women who have great results from facelifts, but I’ll admit, the only reason I haven’t gotten one yet, is fear. The swelling does not sound like my cup of tea. I just don’t see any other options.

Marge, I would recommend going with your instinct. If you hesitated for years because you felt a facelift wasn’t for you, then maybe it’s not! And you may have tried every anti-aging serum out there, but have you tried LifeCell? The ingredients in LifeCell will produce the same results as a facelift, without the cost, pain, and recovery. Don’t make a decision you will regret later!

I didn’t get a lifestyle lift, but i did get a “mini lift” which i want to say is kind of the same thing? anyway, i too was told recovery would only be a week max, but instead it took me well over 3 months to see the swelling and bruising begin to go down. after 5 months i began to look “normal” again. I was going to go back and do an eye lift to help with sag and wrinkles but didn’t want to go through the pain and embarrassment of looking like a monster again. instead i began using lifecell and after a month the skin around my eyes became significantly smoother. facelifts aren’t permanent so i’ll continue to use lifecell to keep the knife away forever!

i wish i would have read this article before i made the mistake of getting a LIFESTYLE LIFT. I think thats EXACTLY what they mean they say BRANDED facelifts. ugh this was the worst mistake of my life. ladies, PLEASE, do not even consider getting one of these procedures done. They lie and say you’ll be fine in a few days. WRONG. in fact you look terrible for months afterwards. and then u run the risk of having to get more work done! It’s true what it says. its been 16 months since my lifestyle lift and ive had to get a cosmetic injection under one eyebrow because one side was pulled more up. my neck skin was still wobbly and wrinkled so i started using the Lifecell cream and it has helped so much. I use it all over my neck and under my chin every single morning and night and it has made me look so much better. in the end, if i hadnt got a lifestyle lift, i probably would have never had to google facelift alternatives and never found out about lifecell. i can only wish i had it 16 months ago.

I’ve undergone treatments like radio frequency skin tightening, and injections like cosmetic injections to try and get rid of my wrinkles and fine lines. Sometimes they worked, but often times they did not last very long, and were way too expensive. What I like about lifecell is it fights every sign of aging, and all you need is one product. Now I don’t have to hurt myself to get young looking skin, and my skin hasnt looked this good in years.

I have so many girlfriends who have gotten facelifts, and now they look completely different. I don’t know what it is, but they just look kind of deformed. Im too scared to go under the knife, and personally i like looking like me. So instead of risking looking like a completely different person, i went and bought this lifecell cream and Im never turning back. this stuff is great. its like a mini facelift in a tube. granted i don’t look 25 again, but i do look like beautiful 67 year old who time has treated nicely 🙂

I’ve been using lifecell for 2 years and i will not go a day without it. this is the best cream for wrinkles i have ever tried. the lines around my lips and eyes are nearly nonexistent. i get compliments all the time on my skin. after being so close to getting a facelift at a pretty popular clinic in fort lauderdale, i decided to pull out of it. i was so ready but i went on realself.com and oh my god, the reviews from the poor women on there talking about their nearly YEAR LONG RECOVERY just freaked me out. I couldnt do it. i have grandchildren! I can’t let them see me look like i got beat up!

I too got scared off from getting a facelift after going on realself.com! Thank goodness for that place. I fell in love with LifeCell from the first time I used it and with continuous use you can really see results. I wish I had discovered this cream years ago. A friend of mine recommended this product to me. She is in her early 40’s and has been a smoker since her teens and you wouldn’t know by looking at her skin. She has been using Lifecell cream for years and she barely has a wrinkle. yes this cream is pricey but you don’t use much and you get the same results as getting a monthly facial treatment for a lot less cost. I recommend this product to anyone over 45. You won’t be disappointed.

I have to say, I’m not at all surprised by these horrific facelift facts. i know a few women who have had them and they don’t look any better than they did before. after seeing that, the thought has since left my mind, so I began using this cream and I’ve had very impressive results. At first, I felt it was a little bit thick for my liking, but it spreads well over the skin and is absorbed quickly. I have combination/oily skin with moderately wrinkles, but had fine lines and my skin looked like it needed a lift. This morning when I walked past the bathroom mirror, my skin looked like I had foundation on. My skin looks luminous, bright and plump. The fine lines are fading and I feel that this product is delivering on it’s claims. I will definitely repurchase.

I am 52 and unfortunately in the past I’ve had some of those painful, costly facelifts done. I’m here to tell you IT’S NOT WORTH IT. Your far better off finding a cream that takes wrinkles away. I’ve used lifecell for 4 years now and this stuff is a miracle worker. The effects are way better and faster working than any procedure I got in the past.

My doctor recommended a facelift and I would sue him if I could. The paragraph about how long the bruising and swelling lasts is true. I wouldn’t recommend it to ANYONE. That was a year ago and since then I’ve stuck to using lifecell which actually works.
