Some smokers think their habit just increases their risk of dying from one disease or another and that perhaps they’ll beat the odds. What many people don’t know is that smoking cigarettes can speed up the aging process by almost 10 years. Cigarette smoke causes an increase of matrix-metalloproteinases which is the enzyme that breaks down old skin to make place for the new – yet it causes less collagen to be formed in the skin. Clinical studies have also found that smoking destroys vitamin C (ascorbic acid), and this could also be indicated to more wrinkle formation, since collagen can not be formed in the skin if there is a shortage of vitamin C.

Smoking cigarettes is both a psychological habit and physical addiction. It;s not easy to quit, but it can be done. The hardest part about quitting is dealing with the anxiety that comes along with it. The side effects of quitting can begin just four hours after your last cigarette and generally peak at 3 to 5 days. After a couple of weeks, they start fading. The best way to stop smoking is cold-turkey. Not many can do that, so the next best option is to ease your way into it. Start by trying to make a pack last you longer than it usually does. If one pack lasts you a day on average, try stretching it out to 3 days. Continue doing this until you see that one pack is lasting you a week. Once you feel capable of going a day without smoking, quit all together. By then you’ll be more in control of what’s going on.

That said, when looking for the perfect and best result-producing skin tightening cream, you need to make sure that it contains ingredients which are proven to tighten and firm sagging skin. One of the most sought after and best working ingredients to always be on the look out for is Dimethylaminoethanol (DMAE).
